As part of the newsroom leadership, you will work with content teams to bring their plans to life. Together, you will further the work to build closer connections with local communities, to strengthen our journalism through critical thinking, and to build an inclusive and supportive work culture.
You will contribute to the daily running of a multi platform newsroom including overseeing all aspects of content development, vetting and editing stories for all platforms, and handling the myriad of time sensitive issues that crop up throughout the day.
You will work with your leadership colleagues to innovate in our storytelling. And you will help ensure that our content reflects contemporary Canada by creating and driving initiatives that help CBC meet its strategic goals and better understand and reflect the communities we serve.

CBC News and CBC News Network are looking for an energetic and forward-thinking producer to take on an important editorial role assigned to the program Rosemary Barton Live.
Rosemary Barton Live is CBC News Network’s weekly Sunday political show. It first launched in November 2020 and is already showing strong audience growth as a destination for viewers who want political news and smart discussion about national issues on Sunday Mornings. The two-hour program airs live 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET on CBC News Network, and also 11 to 11:30 a.m. on CBC Television.
Your role will focus on contributing to Rosemary Barton Live's journalistic impact by chasing and producing interviews with key newsmakers and national figures, as well as supporting the host with major interviews, conventions and special coverage and in her contributions to related programs as CBC’s Chief Political Correspondent, and to support other CBC News programs and platforms in leveraging the content of Rosemary Barton Live.
The hours of work will be Wednesday to Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m, and Sunday, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. but are subject to change due to operational requirements.

The Senior Producer is a collaborator who will work with other programs and leaders across the CBC to make sure that the journalistic work created by the team is seen and heard on all platforms. At the network level, you will have a keen awareness of the needs, style and audiences of network programs like The National, The World at Six and World Report. You will also seek to support the creation of investigative content in CBC Regions and ensure good information flow with teams everywhere.
