We are looking for an Assignment Producer with a passion for news, someone who loves the thrill of the chase and the responsibility of getting information and insight to our audiences quickly and thoughtfully. You’re organized, detail-oriented and confident, making
firm decisions and giving definitive direction. You’re also open to suggestions and dialogue. This position requires the aptitude of an air-traffic controller, the instincts of a forecaster and the heart of a collaborator.
 
You will help lead and coordinate a team of reporters and producers that brings our audiences breaking news, information and insight across digital (web, social media) and broadcast (audio, television and streaming) platforms. You encourage and motivate others to do their best. You are less a gatekeeper and more of a door opener, embracing curiosity and
a spirit of innovation in storytelling.
 
Experience working on all platforms will ground how you assign reporters on a day-to-day basis. You may also gather and produce for digital, video and audio, as required. You’re an independent thinker, demonstrating sound judgement, initiative and creativity. You have a strong knowledge of Canada’s Indigenous communities. A good knowledge of Yukon and
Yukon First Nations, the territory’s news and current affairs, its cultures, characters and history, is an asset.
