Please note this is a temporary position, from February 2023 to February 2024. The successful candidate will generally be assigned to work a morning shift, starting at 7 a.m.

Your role

CBC Edmonton is looking for a digital associate producer to join our team working on Edmonton AM, our morning current affairs radio program.

In this role, you will be the digital voice for Edmonton AM, working to expand the show’s reach to digital audiences and finding innovative ways to spark meaningful conversations with our community online.

As a member of a close-knit team, you will produce compelling radio interviews that provide audiences with the news they need to know each morning, and create dynamic multimedia stories that attract new audiences online. You will have an abundance of original ideas and story pitches that reflect your desire to go beyond the regular news agenda and the standard buzz on social media.

You are passionate about learning new perspectives and championing stories and sources from under-represented communities. As someone with a deep working knowledge of Alberta, you understand its political landscape and its energy-driven economy, and your work highlights how these issues affect the day-to-day lives of the people who live here.

Whatever your assignment is, the thrill of the chase and the adrenaline rush of tight daily deadlines fuel your success.

In this role, you will ensure that all CBC journalistic standards are met and that our stories are fair, balanced, accurate, thoughtful and immediate, and that they resonate with the communities we serve.
