We are looking for an energetic and forward-thinking Associate Producer to take on a vital role for our local afternoon radio program, The Homestretch. You’re someone with interests in a wide range of topics.  You love music and sports and quirky stories, but you also have serious journalistic chops. You are a tenacious and creative chaser and a fast worker. 
 
You will be part of a small, tight-knit team, so strong formal and informal leadership and self-management skills are essential.
 
Your job will be to gather, write, and even present, on air, material for The Homestretch, often on a tight timeframe.  You may also be asked to contribute to our other platforms, with digital or social media items related to stories you gather
You will participate in the production, direction and/or post-production of the show or a program segment.
 
You should be comfortable with the demands and needs of television, radio and online news production.
 
You should have some experience in gathering tape and voicing segments and be comfortable chasing and developing enterprise journalism and original research.
 
Advice, guidance and direction are regularly available from one or more producers, but there is wide latitude for initiative and judgement. There may be opportunities to coordinate the work of others and close cooperation with the program unit is essential.
