Vanessa Farnsworth is a science journalist and fiction writer based in the BC Interior. She specializes in feature articles on the natural world, sustainable agriculture and the ecology of vector-borne diseases. She is also the author of three books: "Rain on a Distant Roof: A Personal Journey Through Lyme Disease in Canada" (Signature Editions, 2013), "The Things She'll Be Leaving Behind" (Thistledown Press, 2018), and "The Haweaters" (Signature Editions, 2020), which was shortlisted for the 2021 Fred Kerner Book Award. From June 2019 to October 2020 she published the bi-monthly subscription email newsletter, "The Lyme Report".
