SEARCHThe CFG was created in January of 2020 when members of the Professional Writers Association of Canada (PWAC) voted to join the independent membership of the Canadian Media Guild Freelance Branch (CMG Freelance), building a new home at CWA-SCA Canada. Both organizations have a long-standing reputation of defending freelance rights and providing professional development and advice for their respective membership.
The CFG has a democratically elected executive who work together to provide leadership and contribute expertise to support members, as well as ensure freelancers enjoy space and consideration within the wider operations of CWA-SCA Canada.
