Moira MacDonald is an award-winning Toronto-based freelance journalist and writer with a specialty in education issues and trends. She is a regular contributor and has served as associate editor to University Affairs magazine following many years as a reporter, feature writer and columnist with Post Media. She has also worked as a freelance contributor for Maclean's, St. Joseph's Media, The Christian Science Monitor, Yahoo News and other publications. Her work has taken her around the world and to Canadian communities far away from her own. A graduate of the University of King's College (Halifax) master of fine arts program in creative nonfiction, Moira is working on her first book related to her education experiences. Moira has also provided professional writing and editing services to organizations such as AdvantAGE Ontario, the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, Research Canada, Foresters Financial, the Canadian Cancer Society and SickKids Foundation. She is a former journalism instructor for Toronto Metropolitan University and Centennial College.
