There’s lots in the world to talk about when it comes to revolution: Iranian women’s rights, environmental justice, the simple act of living at the intersection of marginalized identities. Take this theme at its most bare meaning, or apply it loosely. We want to hear from you.

Because of the nature of this theme, Loose Lips Mag is especially seeking pitches and submissions from Black, Indigenous, Iranian and the BIPOC community at large, as well as Queer and Trans identified writers.

Responsibilities

• Pitch, research and write stories for the website on trending local (Toronto) and national topics of interest to blogTO readers.
• Source and format photos to package posts according to the site’s style and formatting guidelines.
• Optimize stories for SEO and identify content ideas based on trends.
• Consistently hit challenging traffic and content targets.

Responsibilities

• Working with a blogTO staff photographer, visit and write about local restaurants, bars, cafes, bakeries and other businesses as applicable.
• Create original content for Instagram stories and other social media platforms to amplify your visits to local restaurants and other businesses.
• Write quick-turnaround, newsy articles about local food, restaurants etc. to supplement your field reporting.
• Contribute other content to blogTO's website and/or social media platforms as applicable.

Global News is looking for an experienced Show Producer to join our Crime Beat team based out of Toronto. This position will report to the Executive Producer – Crime Beat. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, writing, and producing segments and managing full episodes for Crime Beat on Global TV, Global News’ true crime doc series. This is Group 4 in the current collective agreement.

In your role as producer, you will help create stories and visuals for La semaine verte. We are looking for someone who is creative, thorough and open to innovative storytelling techniques that can take the show to the next level. You must enjoy teamwork, be a self-starter and have keen editorial judgment.

This position is based in Radio-Canada’s Quebec City station. You must be able to travel occasionally for shoots.

and others, as specified by PCMag editors.

An ideal reviewer will have knowledge and experience in one or more of the above or similar categories (or be willing to develop it). You'll bring that expertise to bear to write thoughtful, detailed reviews with detailed comparisons that help our readers make smart buying decisions. You'll also need to grow relationships with the vendors in the space ensuring that you're in the loop on new releases and the latest product features. (Established relationships with those companies are a strong plus.)

You will work under the supervision and guidance of PCMag editors, who will help you match style and data points that make our class-leading reviews authoritative and distinctive.

PCMag reviews are 100% independent and unbiased. We do not produce reviews based solely on demos, briefings, or vendor walk-throughs. You'll be granted access to a full version of the software or service, and you'll use your expertise to evaluate it on such criteria as value, features, performance, user experience (UX), and more (as appropriate), based on your hands-on experience.

A typical review runs 1,500 to 2,500 words and rates start at $500 per review. Other types of content vary in length and rate. Compensation is negotiable based on relevant experience and complexity of the product/topic you're covering.

The Investigative Journalism Bureau (IJB) is a non-profit investigative newsroom at the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health. The IJB conducts in-depth public interest journalism involving students, professional journalists, academics and researchers in partnership with major media in Canada, the United States and overseas.
