Right now we’re looking for album reviews, news features, and/or interviews. Your album review will be published in the newsletter and zine.

Your interview, feature, or essay will be published in part in the free newsletter, in full for Patreon subscribers, and in the zine.

Right now we are accepting either 3 reviews a month or one interview/feature/essay. Signing this form indicates that you are willing to receive monthly e-mails with an invitation to pitch.

*This is ideally a hybrid role, with at least two days in the office each week (Tues, Weds). Candidates may be based in New York or Charlotte, or may be remote.

*This role is in a bargaining unit represented by a labor union, the Writers Guild of America, East.

-Ability to work at assigned slot timing based on the needs of the company 
-Ability to commit long term

Who we are:
North of Main Films, a horror film distribution label offering the best of horror, thriller, and action, is looking for newly released films to be honestly reviewed on Amazon or other designated platforms. You must to rent (VOD) the film, watch it and post your review. 

Compensation per review is $50 USD, which includes the rental of the movie from Amazon. 

Requirements:
18 years and older with an Amazon account in the USA
Must be a US resident
Must be a super fan of horror and thriller films and provide a sample of your writing along with your CV/Resume
Must provide proof of rental from Amazon and provide your review to us before posting. The review must be original and in your own words. Any plagiarized or copied reviews from other platforms will null and void the Contractor Agreement.
Beyond posting a review to Amazon for the film, you must also rate it using Amazon’s star system.

Please note:
We are not paying for positive reviews. You can write what you think of the film -- be yourself, write what you think, and rate the film accordingly. However, we do reserve the right not to publish obscene or scathing reviews with 1 star. If you feel this strongly, let us know. We do not want to interfere with your objectivity; we’ll just find another project for you, but you will still be compensated for the rental and your time. As a genre film viewer, your opinion matters and will aid us as we continuously try to acquire the best content for our audience!
