It’s news – explored & explained – we break the news down like a smart, trusted friend. The show delivers the news our young and diverse audience needs – and is focused on asking questions that audience is already wondering about. It's a show with a distinct personality – from the host, to the guests, to the stories and the way we tackle them. 
 
As an experienced Producer you know how to produce timely news driven stories that explain & explore the headlines. You can develop ideas, have a knack for creative storytelling and find great guests for the show. Reporting to the Executive Producer, you are strong journalistically, with a clear instinct and appetite for daily production. You also have a clear understanding of visual storytelling formats – and you know how to write with a curious and conversational tone. 
 
You are a producer  who’s focussed on the audience and what they need. You know how to engage new, more diverse and younger audiences familiar with digital and social media conventions and story-telling. 
 
You are also, as required, comfortable presenting stories on air, in conversation with a host, and in a live or packaged report. 
 
You are curious, engaged, and immersed in the diversity of experiences that make up contemporary Canada & the world. You bring different  perspectives and expertise to the team.  Along with your excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and creativity, you are a committed team player. You are great to work with because you pitch in wherever it’s needed to get the job done. You understand the streaming news business, who’s watching and why. You are adaptable, creative and you embrace innovation. You have a thorough understanding of CBC Journalistic Standards and Practices, and you know the importance of getting it right, maintaining the trust of our audience.
