What we’re looking for

- Strong organizational skills; ability to handle a variety of functions quickly and efficiently and meet multiple deadlines.
- Experience in pitching and producing original and creative ideas for stories and segments on multiple platforms, including audio, digital and social
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate a small team and ability to work in harmony in a high-pressure, tight-deadline environment.
- Experience in solving problems independently and in-group discussions.
- Openness to new ideas, approaches and feedback
- Strong vetting skills
- Clear and decisive direction through the day to the audio team on expectations around story coverage including length, deadlines, updates, treatments and value-added material, ensuring close collaboration between news and other program units
- Planning, organizing, coordinating and monitoring all Yukon news content to ensure breadth of coverage, variety of innovative treatments and quality of work throughout the day.
- Excellent editing/production skills in Dalet and other audio editing software
- Interest in traveling to Yukon communities and experience in field producing and coordinating a team to produce remote, live programming
- Working knowledge of digital news and social media workflow and engagement.
- Demonstrated coaching skills.
- Podcasting experience would be an asset.
- Experience and proven ability to tell stories in compelling and innovative ways to increase audience engagement.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, is required.
- University degree or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience of which 3 must involve work in broadcasting or a closely related industry
- Knowledge of CBC editorial policies, including mandates and CBC's Journalistic Standards and Practices.
