Do you love newspapers? Are you passionate about print? Pagemasters North America (PMNA) is seeking part-time (possibly full-time) contract layout/copy editors who can work in a fast-paced news environment. We want someone with a knack for pagination and headline writing, someone who can work fast and produce clean pages. This position can be remote anywhere within Canada, and remote or hybrid from Toronto or Calgary. The contracts will run four to six months.

These editors will be joining a new team, so we expect to have a mix of experience levels. From recent student newspaper editors to seasoned industry vets looking for something new, and any newspaper lovers in between, we want to talk to you. As the successful candidate you have:

• Experience editing, laying out/designing and proofing newspaper pages for a variety of sections, from business to general news and entertainment
• Strong news judgment
• The ability to get the details right while meeting deadlines
• Superior customer service orientation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A background in journalism
