CBC Vancouver is seeking a part-time skilled video producer to join our visual storytelling team for two days a week on Saturday and Sunday. The successful candidate will be a creative thinker who brings original ideas and innovative treatments to all platforms and has demonstrated skills in producing, shooting, and editing content at a high level with a digital mindset. You have strong ties to, and a deep understanding of, underrepresented communities and equity-deserving groups in Metro Vancouver and British Columbia.
 
Under the general direction of News leadership, you will operate independently, or as part of the content teams to research, gather, package, and distribute or deliver media for CBC’s platforms including CBC GEM, vertical and social media, digital, radio, and television. You will be required to work a variety of shifts, often independently and without supervision. Under the department of the News, Current Affairs & Local, work must adhere to CBC journalistic and/or program policies, standards and practices but there is latitude for initiative, independent judgment and creativity. Bell Media Kelowna is looking for a Freelance Announcer / Board Operator! We need an energetic and passionate Announcer / Operator to join our team supporting live shows in studio and out in our community at remote broadcasts and events. Shifts include daytime and evening weekend shifts (limited weekday shifts available).

Responsibilities include: 

• Downloading audio files from internet websites and copying and processing (“dubbing”) these files.
• Operating master on-air control room when the radio station is “on-location” for remote broadcasts.
• Download programming and commercial files and import them into local servers for broadcast.
• Host on air program on a casual, fill-in basis.
• Prepare and plan for the show as required including producing interactive content.
• Promotional and publicity responsibilities for Bell Media as required and assigned
• Other duties as assigned.

The World Curling Federation is pleased to open applications for our Sports Media Trainee Programme 2023, which has been paused for two seasons due to COVID-19.

The programme is designed to give young journalists and photographers the opportunity to gain invaluable, hands-on media experience at an international curling event.

Trainee journalists interview athletes, write features, create content for social media and report on the competition. Photographers will capture, edit and distribute images of the competition.

The work of the trainee journalists and photographers is published on the World Curling Federation website and social media channels. Content will also be used by mainstream news outlets and the Federation’s Member Associations.

Entries will be accepted from those who are between 18-35 years old (by the application deadline), have a passion for sport and a keen interest in writing or photography. Applicants do not need to be enrolled in formal education in order to be eligible for the programme.

The successful candidates will be invited to one of the following World Curling Federation events:

a) World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2023 / World Senior Curling Championships 2023 (Gangneung, Korea) 22-29 April 2023

b) Pan Continental Curling Championships 2023 TBD November

c) Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships 2023 TBD November

The World Curling Federation cover all travel, accommodation and incidental costs for trainees.
