We’re hiring scriptwriters/researchers for 2 new YouTube channels (faceless)— each with its own distinct voice and audience. You’ll be given a concept and framework; your job is to research, write an engaging script, and grab visual references the editor can use.
This has the potential to turn into a long-term or monthly retainer contract, as we will need videos on a weekly basis.
⚠️ IMPORTANT:
We’re hiring separately for each channel — not one writer for both.
Specify which ONE you’re applying for in your application.
🕹️ Channel 1: Zillienial Nostalgia
For late-’90s/early-2000s kids. Bionicle, Tamagotchi, Limewire energy.
Ideal fit: You lived it, not just studied it, and can turn it into witty, heartfelt storytelling.
🎬 Channel 2: Guns in Movies (But Funny)
Breaking down movie firearms with humor, accuracy, and film-nerd energy.
Ideal fit: Movie buff + firearm hobbyist who loves pointing out ridiculous details (entertainingly).
🛠️ What You'll Do:
Write a fully-researched script for each assigned topic (~20 mins long)
Match the voice, tone, and pacing of the specific channel
Source links and visual references for the editor (clips, images, charts, etc.)
Work collaboratively with producers to bring each story to life
✅ Requirements:
Proven writing ability (preferably in video, journalism, essays, or comedy)
Ability to translate complex info into accessible and entertaining scripts
Deep familiarity with YouTube content, pacing, and audience expectations
Strong research skills and attention to accuracy
Comfort working remotely and hitting deadlines
Bonus: Experience in storytelling, creative writing, or documentary scripting
To Apply:
Tell us which channel you’re applying for
Include why your a fit for that channel
Drop links to any relevant work (scripts, videos, portfolio)

Seeking an experienced Brand Systems Writer (8-10+years) to help us build a full, robust, and highly strategic narrative system that stands the test of time for our B2B fintech company.
You’re an elite brand writer who excels not only at Voice (with a capital “V”), but also has experience taking complex, technical, and often opaque product narratives and crafting an exciting brand voice that’s precise, ownable, and differentiated in the “sea of sameness” that is B2B.
You’re obsessed with details most people don’t even notice — things like the architecture of a sentence, or how a single word can shift perception. You write with the clever intelligence of The Economist, the sly wit of The New Yorker, and the confidence of a true category challenger. Your work doesn’t just define voice—it creates a "smile in the mind" for the reader. It makes them remember you.
If you’re experienced at building brand systems that define how billion-dollar companies communicate, then this is the role for you. Bonus points if you’ve written for deeply technical, highly analytical audiences (think private equity, venture capital, and startups) but still know how to spark emotion. Let's connect!
NOTE: We’re naturally looking for something highly specific in this role. Please only apply with work that allows our team to see your experience at writing cut-through brand systems, with a mastery of voice and tone that underlies every part of your work.

We never need an excuse to lean into love, but this is something a little different than we’ve done before and it has us all aflutter. We’ve absolutely fallen in love with our latest project, a collab with actor Emma Roberts, acclaimed producer Karah Preiss, and their production company/book club, Belletrist. The Narratively x Belletrist True Romance Writing Prize will award remarkable memoir and reported stories, from love quadrangles, to lost-and-found soulmates, to unthinkable sacrifices and bizarre romantic connections that defy all odds. We’re seeking completely new perspectives that shift our understanding of romance and relationships and reignite our pride about being human in 2025. We’ll even be teaming up with Emma and the Belletrist crew to develop our favorite stories for the screen!

Room Magazine invites unpublished writing on any theme for our open issue 48.4, edited by Sadie Graham, Natasha Gauthier, Fran Pacchiano, and Chimedum Ohaegbu.
Without prescription or limitation, we want to see your best work. Work that takes risks, with language that surprises. Lately we’ve been thinking about: urgency, and the failure to be urgent; mistakes; complicity; consequences; the texture and feeling of the present; the lingering of the past; Afrosurrealism; Indigenous futurism; what the world will look like when Palestine is free; critical Canadiana, grounded in place, amid this surge of nationalism; feel-bad fiction, formal poetry, deeply-researched essays, and hybrid forms.
Underrepresented writers—including but not exclusive to women (cis and trans), trans men, Two-Spirit and non-binary writers who are Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, queer, and/or disabled—are particularly encouraged to submit.
Before submitting, please read our About section to see if your work fits within Room’s mandate, then refer to the Submission Guidelines on how to format your work.
Submissions open February 28th and will be accepted on a rolling basis until we reach our submissions limit.
