The MMC Arts Grant assists comic book creators with small grants to assist in the costs in self-publishing their work. It is not the grants intention to fully support an artist/writer through the entire process of self-publishing, but rather to encourage creators to experience the learning process involved in working towards such a goal.
As we are focused on creators, please note that submissions containing any AI-generated art or stories will not qualify for the grant.

Dignified Menstruation is an innovative, holistic approach for not only changing narratives around menstruation but also changing the landscape of gender-based violence, human rights and feminism. However, many stakeholders considered it as a private not as a priority. Therefore, this fellowship program aims to blowout the urgency and intersectionality of various aspects of Dignified Menstruation through various outlets of the media at global level.
Despite being the most advanced area in development, media also do not place the Dignified Menstruation as an urgent and profound human rights concern. Recently, few media has started to cover the issues related to menstruation. But, they mostly confined with menstrual products or period products or period tax which are needed but not necessary to guarantee the menstrual dignity. On the other hand, they missed to examine the menstrual discrimination through the lens of human rights as menstrual discrimination is an underlying cause of systemic inequalities and patriarchy which is cultivated since childhood and reinforced throughout the life.
In an effort, Global South Coalition for Dignified Menstruation (GSCDM) conducts trainings at local, national and global level on Dignified Menstruation centering media, government officials, NGOs/INGOs, academia, and so on (www.dignifiedmenstruation.org).
